Google has announced revisions to its Gambling and Games advertising policy, with updated certification requirements taking effect on September 14, 2026. The changes redefine eligibility criteria for online gambling operators seeking to run ads on the platform.
Updated Compliance Standards
Under the new framework, operators must maintain a "good policy health" status to continue advertising. Companies that frequently violate platform guidelines or fail to implement player protection measures will face restricted ad access. Google will also tighten oversight of Manager Accounts. Accounts with a history of repeated certificate suspensions or clients with systematic policy breaches will be ineligible for new certifications. In severe cases, the platform reserves the right to revoke currently active certificates.Domain eligibility standards remain unchanged. Websites hosted on free subdomains or domains without a direct connection to gambling services will continue to be excluded. Certification will only be granted to sites owned and directly operated by the gambling provider.
