Brightstar Lottery has finalized a five-year contract extension with Sony Pictures to continue producing Ghostbusters-themed lottery titles. The agreement ensures the ongoing global development and distribution of these omnichannel games.
Expansion of Game Portfolio
Stacey Kerr, Senior Vice President of Global Licensing at Sony Pictures Entertainment, confirmed the continuation of the partnership. She noted that the franchise maintains significant popularity and the collaboration allows the company to engage both long-term fans and new audiences.
Matthew Whalen, Senior Vice President of Global Instant Ticket Services at Brightstar, highlighted the history of the license. The company has held the rights to the Ghostbusters brand since 2015. To date, the partnership has resulted in the launch of over 25 games across more than 20 lottery providers worldwide.
The current catalog includes traditional instant tickets featuring high-definition graphics, as well as Brightstar's patented Infinity Instants. The portfolio also covers Fast Play games and a dedicated eInstant title. The new contract focuses on introducing immersive omnichannel experiences to further engage players.
The initial licensing agreement was established in 2015, marking the beginning of the commercial integration of the Ghostbusters brand into the lottery sector.
